Understanding Coffee Roast Levels

Roast level plays a major role in how coffee tastes—especially when it comes to 100% Kona coffee. At Huahua Farm, each roast level is designed to highlight a different side of the bean, allowing its natural qualities to shine.

Medium Roast – Balanced & Smooth
A medium roast brings out Kona coffee’s natural sweetness. It offers a smooth body, balanced acidity, and bright, clean flavor notes, making it a great choice for everyday brewing.

Full-City Roast – Rich & Caramelized
Full-city roast falls between medium and dark, roasted just before the second crack. During the roasting phase, coffee cracks because the water trapped in the bean creates pressure as it turns to steam. This level of roasting delivers deeper body and rich, caramelized flavors with a subtle smokiness, while still preserving Kona’s signature sweetness.

Dark Roast – Bold & Low Acidity
Dark roast beans develop a glossy appearance from their natural oils. The flavor is bold and roasty with low acidity, perfect for those who enjoy a strong, smoky cup of coffee.

No matter the roast, Huahua Farm roasts every batch fresh to order—ensuring exceptional quality and flavor in every cup of Kona coffee.
